Can You Say......DISGUSTING!!!

I can not believe the disgusting things I have found around my house lately. Let's just say I've been having the heebie jeebies a lot lately. This morning (of course it had to be after Bryan left for work) I walked into Cole's room and saw this climbing on the outside of his window:

Yes, Yes. It's a TARANTULA!! Disgusting, disgusting, disgusting!! Where am I living, the Middle East? Lizards, scorpions, beetles, and now tarantulas!! I can't take this. Now I can totally sympathize with Marissa when she used to call me and tell me that all of these nasty things were crawling around and in her house. And...the other day I found this nasty thing out in our front yard:
This thing is called a Jerusalem cricket. Again, DISGUSTING!! Another thing - we had a lizard in our basement and Bryan (aka my knight in shining armor) caught it and threw it in a jar and then took it outside. Did you know that lizards' tails fall off when they are in danger or are being caught? Yeah - the lizard in our basement lost his tail in our jar. It totally makes sense - but I didn't know that. I guess I've never been around lizards enough to know, until NOW! Again, DISGUSTING!! Maybe living in Eagle Mnt. is going to take some more getting use to than I thought. GROSS.

That is CRAZY! I would never believe you unless I saw it. YIKes I can't believe you seriously saw that thing. Aren't those supposed to be in a Rain Forest or Egypt like you said? Brings back memories of the movie Arachnophobia!!!!

That spider is too big for comfort. I still can't believe that there are tarantulas out where you guys are. Next will probably be a rattlesnake.

HOLY DISGUSTING! That is one big triantuala, Uncle Ed would have loved it :)
Mine were not that big, only my scorpions were big. That Jerusalem spider is absolutely disgusting. YUCK YUCK YUCK!! That's what you get for living on a dirt hill with nothing to the south or east of you. POOR GIRL. I told Jamie and she totally knows what you're going through. Now you know why I kept my wooden bat close and she kept canning jars placed throughout the house.

You probably should put moth balls along your foundation. It will help with spiders, but also keep mice out, cause you'll probably deal with those too. SORRY!!

Just think positive, it was on Cole's window and not in his crib. :)
Love you!

I am so sorry. More than anything in the world I absolutely HATE any type of insect that creeps, crawls, bites and looks disgusting. My nightmares are spiders and bugs. I am so sorry you have to live in it. This summer Ty sprayed our house inside and out with some bug spray we saw on TV and I did not see not one disgusting thing. May be you can try that, but for a tarantula like you might need an AK 47. I'm sorry again. I HATE those things.

Can I just say that your blog is awesome. I love the links for great FHE ideas, cooking and other stuff. I am not a big fan of this picture of the SICK spider! Other than that I love your blog!

If my sister Sara saw those pics, she would for sure pass out! She is beyond terrified of crawling things like that. I can't tell her about this, she will never, ever come to your house, if an occasion ever came up that was out there.

I have heard from neighbors that there are black widows and rattlesnakes but no one mention tarantulas! They probably didn't want to scare me off. So I was just outside throwing away a diaper and I was thinking about your bugs. Then I thought "I wonder what I have in my backyard?" I turned around and there was a big black spider with a bright red back on my sliding glass door! I almost couldn't get in the house! I tried to look it up on the internet to find out if it was dangerous but I couldn't find it. I've decided that Gabrie is not playing outside anymore! ( :

I feel for you Ashlee, and ofcourse the men aren't always around so guess who's going to have to save herself (and her kids). I guess this is why the pest control guys make the big bucks. I'm getting the willies just looking at these crazy bug!
Hope everything else is going great. I miss you guys.

I think the Jerusalem cricket looks way more scary than the tarantula. But then again... my roommate and I had a pet tarantula in college.
