The Love of Reading

Okay. So I've been reading quite a bit lately and I am loving it. I will start a book after the boys go down one night and I kind of have to finish it the next morning. I'm addicted to reading. I'm always one who will read a book if it is recommended to me. I love a "clean" and good book. So... I thought I would post on my sidebar a list of books that I have read (and liked) and maybe it will help some of you out there with your book choices. I love to read, and if anyone out there has read a good book, let me know.

I love the Shannon Hale series! If you liked her, you might like the Ranger's Apprentice series (I can't rememeber the author). I also like the Twilight series which you've probably heard of by Stephanie Meyer. I'm reading her other novel, The Host, and it's also quite interesting so far. Those are some of my favs. Oh, another one is Walk Two Moons by Sharon Creech if you don't mind elementary books. Wow, that was much longer than I thought. Sorry!

Well....since you're now a Gospel Doctrine teacher (lucky you) I will recommend my favorite LDS book. It's called "A Marvelous Work and a Wonder". The book is somewhat outdated and was out of print for awhile but I think its back at Deseret Book now. That book explained taught me a lot about the connection between the Bible and the Book of Mormon. It's still my favorite book.
By the way, thanks for responding on my blog. The Runyon Hotel is still open & guests are more than welcome. You should come hang out at the pool with me. Plus, I have a play area with toys so the boys can play while we scrapbook. I need a lot of creative help and you're the perfect person to help me!! So think about coming to visit!
Love you all!

I'm so glad you did this! I've been wanting to read more (I would feel so much more productive than watching TV) but I don't have anything that I know of to read! So I'll be asking you some more about those books :)

You've always been the studious one! You're pretty funny...too bad some of us didn't get just a little bit of yours and dad's love for reading. I probably NEVER will love to read. Who knows in Kansas I won't have anything better to do. Kansas YUCK!!
I'm going to develop some mad cooking skills though

I also loved the Bayern books by Shannon Hale. I'm excited to get her newest from the library (Book of a Thousand Days). If you liked her stuff, you'll probably also like just about anything by Robin McKinley. She's my favorite author. She's done some fairy tale retellings - Beauty, The Rose Daughter, Spindles End - and she's also done her own fantasy type fairy tale which is actually my favorite - The Blue Sword and Hero and the Crown. I also thought the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan was fun - quick read, but fun. (I'm in to Juvenile Fiction, in case you didn't notice!)

Did you like Eat Love Pray? I started reading it and haven't finished yet? Anyone game to read Oprah's latest book rave - A New Earth by Ekart Toley (sp?)? I started it but the first couple of chapters are a little deep. I need to keep giving it a try. Well...can you tell I have ADD by reading this blog? Far be it for me to finish a book :o) Wanna ride bikes?
